Are you ready to explore Botswana’s most fascinating wilderness areas at your pace? Embark on this 12-night self-drive safari with a fully equipped vehicle to discover Makgadikgadi N.P, Chobe N.P and Moremi Game Reserve.

Makgadikgadi N.P boasts endless moon-like landscapes and desert adapted species (2 nights). The visit to Kubu Island (1 night) is well worth it to enjoy the magical sunset.

At Nata, you will be able to rest for 1 night and enjoy a hot shower.

The route will continue towards Chobe. You will explore the Chobe riverfront area (2 nights), a haven for all the elephants in the area. In addition, you will be able to get supplies for the remaining of your trip.

North Savute will be your next stop for 1 night. Then you will head to Khwai (2 nights) known for its abundance of wildlife and bird species.

Moremi South (1 night) will be your last safari destination. The game drives in this area are quite productive.

Your final stop will be Maun (1 night), where you will stay at a comfortable lodge.

Expert tip

Camping sites are limited in size and always in high demand. We would suggest you start planning between 12 to 8 months in advance.

January and February do not present ideal driving conditions as the terrain is muddy due to the rain and the tracks are difficult to find. We only recommend travelling during these months if you are an expert 4×4 driver.

Crocodile Camp

Day 1

Once you arrive at Maun International Airport, our team will meet you and assist you with supplies purchases. Collect your 4×4 rental vehicle and drive to Crocodile Camp. Afternoon at leisure.Breakfast and dinner.

Day 12

You will reach Crocodile Camp at the end of your exciting safari adventure. Enjoy this accommodation and a pleasant shower before your departure. Breakfast and dinner.

LION - MOREMI

Camping

Days 2 & 3 – Enjoy breakfast and get ready to start your safari adventure. Makgadikgadi is approximately 2 hours away from Maun. Explore this area at your pace.

Day 4 – Expect a long drive (6 hours) until you reach Kubu Island and settle in at the campsite. Do not miss the sunset whilst enjoying your favourite drink!

Day 5 – Drive towards Nata until you reach Elephant Sants. Accommodation, dinner and breakfast

Days 6 & 7 – The next 2 days will be dedicated to discovering the beautiful Chobe riverfront area and its wildlife. On the last day, you will have to get supplies for the rest of the safari

Day 8 – Spend the night at Thobolos, located in the Chobe Forest Reserve. The waterhole nearby provides good sightings as wildlife stops to drink.

Days 9 & 10 –Drive across Chobe N.P towards Khwai. This region bordering Moremi is incredibly rich in wildlife.

Day 11 –The last safari stop will be Moremi South. Spend your last day on exciting game drives.

Self-drive safari

Elephant Sands

Day 5 

Self-drive from Kubu Island to Elephant Sands. A fascinating journey through the lunar-like scenery of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans.

Arrive and settle in your comfortable room. Afternoon at leisure to relax by the pool and enjoy a cooked meal at dinner.
